On March 31st, 18 banks will decide whether or not to renew a $2.2 billion loan to Enbridge, the company behind the toxic Line 3 pipeline. To fight back, we launched the #DefundLine3 campaign. You can watch the launch party with frontliners Tara Houska of the Giniw Collective

The Line 3 so-called “Replacement” Project is a proposal for a new pipeline that would cover more than 1,000 miles from Hardisty, Alberta to Superior, Wisconsin, transporting an average of 760,000 barrels of tar sands crude oil from Alberta each day, with a capacity of 844,000 barrels per day. If built, Line 3 would release as much greenhouse gas pollution as fifty new coal fired power plants. It would violate Ojibwe treaty rights and put the state’s water, ecosystems and communities at risk.
