Tell Wall Street and Congress: Put People Before Polluters
We demand that banks, asset managers, insurance companies and institutional investors stop funding, insuring and investing in climate destruction.
Instead, that money should go directly to workers, families, and the tens of millions of people who are on the frontlines of this crisis.
Trump and Wall Street are preparing to give billions of dollars to fossil fuel companies instead of the people fighting this crisis.
That’s on top of the hundreds of billions of dollars that banks, asset managers, and insurance companies are investing in fossil fuels every year. We shouldn’t be funding coal, oil and gas companies. They’re a risk to public health and they’re fueling the other great crisis of our time: the climate emergency.
Any response to the coronavirus pandemic should prioritize the needs of everyday people, especially the people of color, Indigenous people and poor people hardest hit by this crisis. Money should be going directly to workers, families, and the tens of millions of people who are on the frontlines — not fossil fuel industry CEOs.
